Asian Tour Star Signs on with LIV Golf

New Zealand golfer Ben Campbell has officially joined the LIV Golf League for the 2025 season after showcasing his talent in the International Series over the past two years. The two-time Asian Tour winner impressed as a reserve player in three LIV Golf League events last year and has now secured a spot on Bubba Watson’s RangeGoats GC, filling the vacancy left by Thomas Pieters’ move to 4Aces GC. Campbell narrowly missed out on qualifying for the league last season but finished as the top-ranked non-LIV golfer in the 2024 International Series rankings, trailing only Joaquin Niemann and Peter Uihlein.

In 2023, Campbell claimed his first Asian Tour and International Series victory by defeating Cameron Smith at the Hong Kong Open. He followed up this success with another win in 2024 at the International Series Morocco, where he emerged victorious in a playoff against John Catlin. Campbell’s impressive performances in these events caught the attention of LIV Golf officials, ultimately leading to his inclusion in the league for the upcoming season. He joins other new signings such as Yubin Jang, Frederik Kjettrup, and Promotions winner Lee Chieh-po as part of the growing roster for 2025.

Reports have surfaced suggesting that the next LIV Golf signing could be DP World Tour standout Tom McKibbin. Although McKibbin refused to comment on the rumors when questioned at a recent Team Cup event, sources from Ten Golf and the BBC have indicated that he may be joining Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII squad for the upcoming season. McKibbin, who has earned his PGA Tour card for 2025 through the DPWT, would bring a wealth of talent and potential to his new team if the speculation proves true.

The 2025 LIV Golf League season is set to kick off in early February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of another exciting year for professional golf. Fans can expect to see top players from around the world competing in high-stakes tournaments throughout the season, with Campbell and other new additions adding to the competitive landscape.
