Germany’s Helen Briem achieved her first win as a professional golfer at the Rose Ladies Open held at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire. Briem was two shots behind the leader at the 36-hole mark but managed to produce an impressive round of 66 (-6) to force a playoff with England’s Hannah Screen, who had recently graduated in 2023. The playoff took place on the 18th hole, with both players making birdies on the first hole and pars on the second. Eventually, Briem secured the victory by sinking a par putt on the third hole of the playoff.

Reflecting on her victory, Briem expressed her joy at winning her first professional tournament, especially at the prestigious Rose Ladies Open. She emphasized the significance of each tournament having its own unique story, and this win being a special one for her career. Briem also shared her surprise and excitement at finishing with an eagle on the 18th hole during regulation play, despite initially facing a challenging situation with her shot off the tee.

Having previously secured three consecutive wins on the LET Access Series (LETAS) in June, Briem’s triumph at the Rose Ladies Open solidified her LET card for the 2025 season, marking a major accomplishment in her professional career. The victory further validated her exceptional season in which she has consistently performed well and achieved her goal of earning a spot on the Ladies European Tour (LET) for the upcoming season. This success underscores Briem’s talent and dedication to her craft as a professional golfer.

In addition to Briem’s victory, other notable players at the Rose Ladies Open included Sweden’s Isabell Ekstrom, who finished third overall with a score of 12-under par. Fellow Swede Kajsa Arwefjall secured fourth place with a score of 11-under par. Making her professional debut at the tournament, England’s Mimi Rhodes, who had recently enjoyed success at the Curtis Cup, tied for fifth place alongside Gabriella Cowley. The competition at the Rose Ladies Open showcased the skill and talent of female golfers from various countries.

Briem’s win at the tournament not only highlighted her individual success but also brought attention to the rising talent in women’s golf, with players like Ekstrom, Arwefjall, Rhodes, and Cowley delivering impressive performances. The competitive nature of the Rose Ladies Open, held at the picturesque Brocket Hall, provided a platform for female golfers to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. The event helped raise the profile of women’s golf and demonstrated the growing interest and support for female athletes in the sport.

As Briem celebrated her milestone victory at the Rose Ladies Open, her achievement served as inspiration for aspiring female golfers looking to make their mark in the professional golfing world. By securing her first win on the professional circuit, Briem demonstrated perseverance, skill, and determination, qualities that are essential for success in the competitive realm of professional golf. Her triumph symbolized the culmination of hard work and dedication, setting a positive example for young women pursuing a career in the sport and promoting diversity and inclusion within golf.
