Cobra Launches the New King TEC Mini Driver: An Innovative Approach to Golf

Cobra has announced the presale of its latest product, the King TEC mini driver. This new club combines advanced technology with versatile design, aimed at golfers looking for improved distance and accuracy.

Key Features of the King TEC Mini Driver

The King TEC-MD is designed for enhanced playability. Featuring a compact clubhead and a fairway wood-length shaft (13.5 degrees of standard loft and a shorter 43.75” shaft), this mini driver allows for easier swings and increased precision compared to traditional drivers.

Insights from Golf Experts

Dan Ladd, president of Cobra Puma Golf, stated, “We’ve seen a significant number of Tour players put mini drivers in their bag in the last year with great success. We think there are a lot of recreational players who can also benefit from the combination of distance and accuracy mini-drivers provide, especially with the addition of Cobra’s industry-leading technologies and fitting capabilities.”

Cutting-Edge Technology

The King TEC-MD features a titanium body with a lightweight multilayer carbon crown that redistributes weight to the sole. This design enhances launch angles and forgiveness.

Additionally, the titanium PWRSHELL face insert incorporates H.O.T. Face Technology, which aims to elevate the coefficient of restitution (CT) around the center of the hitting area. This results in greater ball speed and distance, particularly on off-center strikes.

Customization Options

The mini driver also features two movable sole weights (forward and rear). The placement of these weights allows for customizable center of gravity (CG) settings:

  • Forward Position (12g weight): Produces lower spin rates and increased ball speed.
  • Rear Position (12g weight): Generates slightly higher spin rates with enhanced forgiveness.

FutureFit33 Adjustable Hosel System

In addition to its advanced construction, the mini driver includes the FutureFit33 adjustable hosel system. With 33 unique loft and lie settings, this innovative system allows golfers to adjust both loft and lie by +/- 2 degrees in every direction, enabling precise tuning for launch, speed, and control.

“FutureFit33 is a true breakthrough in metalwood fitting. Never before has any hosel system provided 33 unique loft and lie settings that can be adjusted so quickly and easily,” said Jose Miraflor, VP of Product Architecture and Consumer Connections at Cobra Puma Golf.

Spieth’s Brilliant Chaos: Seven Birdies, Three Trees, One Frustration

By James “Jimmy” CaldwellMarch 13, 2026

Jordan Spieth was coming off four straight birdies Friday at The Players Championship when he turned to thousands of fans along for the ride and asked them a question that summed up why he rarely lacks for entertainment. This is the essence of the “Spieth experience,” and it was full on before a large crowd that witnessed a little bit of everything in the second round. “It was just a bummer, both days finish with doubles,” Spieth said.
