College golf is back, and it’s time to take a look at the Player of the Year candidates. The Haskins Award presented by Stifel honors the player of the year in men’s college golf, as selected by college golfers, coaches, and members of the college golf media. This year, the Haskins Foundation announced its 2025 Haskins Award preseason watch list, featuring 25 talented golfers listed alphabetically. Players on the watch list were selected by a panel of Golfweek and Golf Channel writers. The reigning champion, Auburn’s Jackson Koivun, will be looking to go back-to-back this season, but competition from other top players, including the world’s top-ranked amateur and the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, will be tough.

Among the initial watch list, six schools have two players each: Arizona State, Auburn, Illinois, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. The players on the watch list come from various backgrounds and have shown exceptional talent on the course. Names like Jose Luis Ballester, Jackson Buchanan, Luke Clanton, David Ford, Ian Gilligan, Drew Goodman, Justin Hastings, Max Herendeen, Benjamin James, Filip Jakubcik, and many more are sure to make an impact this season.

Players like Michael La Sasso, Bryan Lee, Christiaan Maas, Phichaksn Maichon, Omar Morales, Tommy Morrison, Jake Peacock, Gordon Sargent, Calum Scott, William Sides, Preston Summerhays, Brendan Valdes, and Jackson Van Paris have also showcased their skills and will be ones to watch in the upcoming season. These talented college golfers have the potential to make a name for themselves and compete for the prestigious Haskins Award.

The Haskins Award is considered the Heisman Trophy of college golf and winning it is a significant achievement for any player. With the level of talent and competition rising each year, the race for the Haskins Award becomes fiercer. The upcoming season promises to bring exciting matchups and exceptional performances from these top college golfers. Fans can expect to witness thrilling moments as these players battle it out on the course and showcase their skills in pursuit of the coveted award.

As the college golf season unfolds, all eyes will be on these talented individuals as they strive for excellence and aim to etch their names in college golf history. The journey to the Haskins Award is a challenging one, but for these players, it’s an opportunity to show the world what they are capable of. With determination, passion, and skill, these college golfers are set to make their mark on the 2025 season and leave a lasting impact on the sport. It’s time to gear up for an unforgettable season of college golf and witness the rise of the next generation of golfing stars.
