Eugenio Chacarra Aims to Join New LIV Golf Team

After being informed by Fireballs GC’s Captain, Sergio Garcia, that Eugenio Chacarra would not be returning to the team for the 2025 LIV Golf League season, Chacarra’s future in the league has become uncertain. However, following a impressive round at the Link Hong Kong Open, Chacarra hinted at potential talks happening at the Asian Tour’s final tournament, the PIF Saudi International in December. Chacarra, who secured his first LIV Golf title in 2022, expressed optimism about his future options, stating that his agent is in discussions with other teams.

Despite currently sitting in 15th place at the Hong Kong Open, Chacarra remains hopeful about his future in the league. He mentioned having meetings scheduled in Saudi Arabia, where he hopes to gain more clarity about his next steps. Chacarra’s past successes include winning his first LIV Golf event in Bangkok and an Asian Tour title at the St Andrews Bay Championship after a dramatic 10-hole playoff. However, his performance in 2024 saw a downturn, with only two top 10 finishes and a 39th place ranking in the LIV Golf Individual Standings.

As a result of his performance in 2024, Chacarra’s contract with Fireballs GC was not extended, making him a free agent for the upcoming season. This means he will need to negotiate with other teams if he wishes to continue competing in the league. Chacarra reflected on his challenges during the season, mentioning that he competed in pain during the first five events, making it difficult to perform at his best. Despite this, he remains confident in his abilities and is excited about the opportunity to improve his game and compete against the world’s top players.

Chacarra emphasized the competitive nature of LIV Golf and the challenges of playing through injuries in such demanding events. He expressed gratitude for being able to focus on getting back in shape and improving his game. With a positive outlook on the future, Chacarra is eager to continue honing his skills and participating in the sport he loves. His dedication to golf and commitment to constant improvement indicate a promising future for the young golfer as he navigates the next steps in his career. With potential opportunities on the horizon, Chacarra remains determined to showcase his talent and compete at the highest level.
