Prince Edward Island, located on the East Coast of Canada, is a paradise for golf enthusiasts, offering over 25 golf facilities in a small geographical area. It is also known for its stunning beaches and top-notch dining options. This article highlights the author’s recent trip to Prince Edward Island and the experiences they had during their four-day stay on the island.

For their stay on the island, the author and their wife chose Fairways Cottages, a centrally located accommodation that offered easy access to all the golf courses on their itinerary. The cottages provided all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including kitchens, a heated pool, sauna, fire pits, and outdoor activities. Fairways Cottages also offered an outdoor sauna to help guests relax after a day of golf, making it the ideal base for their golfing adventures.

The golfing experience in Prince Edward Island started at Red Sands, a challenging yet fun 9-hole course that caters to golfers of all skill levels. With limited bunkers and large greens, the course’s true test lies in the ever-changing wind that blows over the hilly property and the undulating greens. After a round of golf at Red Sands, the author and their wife enjoyed an early dinner at Sou’West, located just minutes away from the course.

The next day, they played at Green Gables Golf Club, offering picturesque views of the Anne of Green Gables House and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The course, originally designed by Stanley Thompson, was renovated in 2008 and features rolling hills and challenging holes. After golf, they enjoyed a walk on the beach and a meal at The Table, a restaurant showcasing local culinary talent and ingredients.

Their most ambitious day of golf included playing 36 holes at Glasgow Hills and Andersons Creek. Glasgow Hills, with its expansive layout and elevation changes, provided a variety of shot options for the players. Andersons Creek, on the other hand, offered risk-reward options off the tee and more elevation changes throughout the property. After a fun day of golf, they headed back to Fairways Cottages to relax and enjoy a filling meal.

Despite the weather cutting short their round at Eagles Glenn, the golf course and facilities impressed with ample teeing options and top-notch conditions. The trip concluded with a meal at the Blue Mussel Cafe, known for its fresh seafood and oysters. The article also provides insights into the author’s dining experiences at various restaurants on the island, highlighting the use of locally sourced ingredients and the culinary talents of the chefs.

In conclusion, the author shares some final notes for travelers interested in visiting Prince Edward Island, mentioning the convenience of the Charlottetown airport and its direct flights to major Canadian cities. With its world-class golf courses, beautiful beaches, and excellent dining options, Prince Edward Island is a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts looking for a memorable golfing experience in a stunning setting.
