Bergen County, New Jersey, is offering free golf to veterans and active-duty service members from Nov. 11 to 15 in honor of Veterans Day. This annual event is a small way to show gratitude for their sacrifices and service to protect our freedoms. County Executive Jim Tedesco stated that honoring veterans and service members is a crucial commitment, and they deserve unwavering respect and appreciation from the community.

The initiative has received a positive response in previous years, and this year, event organizers are encouraging veterans to call ahead to make an early-access registration. This will allow more people to take advantage of the free round of golf. Commissioner Steven Tanelli mentioned that freedom comes at a cost, paid for by the courageous men and women who serve in the armed forces. Offering free golf is a small expression of gratitude and a reminder of the unity and support that strengthen communities.

To participate, veterans and active-duty service members must be residents of Bergen County. They can reserve a tee time for up to four golfers, but those who are not veterans or active-duty must pay full price. To guarantee a tee time, participants should make a reservation by calling the county in advance between Oct. 28 and Nov. 1. Early-access reservations require basic information such as name, town, date of birth, military branch, years of service, email address, phone number, and the number of golfers.

The six golf courses in Bergen County where veterans and service members can enjoy a free round of golf include Darlington in Mahwah, Orchard Hills in Paramus, Overpeck in Teaneck, Rockleigh and Soldier Hill in Emerson, and Valley Brook in River Vale. Overall, the free golf offer is a way for Bergen County to recognize and honor veterans and active-duty service members for their sacrifices and service. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting and showing gratitude to those who protect our freedoms. By providing this opportunity for relaxation and enjoyment, the county hopes to give back to those who have given so much to the nation.
