The upcoming Presidents Cup, taking place at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada, will see the International team face off against the United States team. Both teams will consist of six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks, allowing captains Jim Furyk and Mike Weir to build a strong team. In this article, we will explore who should make the cut for each team, regardless of the captains’ choices.

The United States team’s automatic qualifiers are determined by FedEx Cup points, with Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala securing their spots based on their points standings. Vincenzi’s captain picks for the US team include Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Akshay Bhatia, and Billy Horschel. These picks are based on their recent performances, match play experience, and overall abilities on the course.

On the other hand, the International team’s automatic qualifiers are determined by OWGR points, with Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Jason Day, Adam Scott, and Byeong Hun An securing their spots. Vincenzi’s captain’s picks for the International team include Corey Conners, Min Woo Lee, Cameron Davis, Taylor Pendrith, Si Woo Kim, and Jhonnatan Vegas. These picks are based on their abilities, performance in previous events, and the need for a strong team dynamic.

Players who missed out on making the teams include Justin Thomas, Nick Dunlap, Max Homa, Cameron Young, Brian Harman for the United States team, and Adam Hadwin, Mackenzie Hughes, Nick Taylor, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Erik Van Rooyen, Emiliano Grillo, Ryan Fox for the International team. While these players have shown great potential and skills, the final selections were based on various factors including recent form, match play experience, and overall team composition.

The dynamics of each team will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the Presidents Cup. With experienced players like Tony Finau and Adam Scott, as well as rising stars like Sahith Theegala and Min Woo Lee, both teams have a good mix of talent and potential. The presence of veterans like Billy Horschel and Jhonnatan Vegas, along with young talents like Akshay Bhatia and Cameron Davis, adds depth and versatility to the teams.

The Presidents Cup being held in Canada adds an extra layer of excitement and anticipation for golf fans. With players like Taylor Pendrith and Corey Conners representing the home country, the International team will have strong local support. The United States team, led by captain Jim Furyk, will be looking to continue their dominance in the event and secure another victory, while the International team, led by captain Mike Weir, will be eager to make history and claim their first win since 1998.

Overall, the Presidents Cup promises to be a thrilling and competitive event with some of the best golfers from around the world showcasing their skills. The final team selections reflect a balance of experience, talent, and potential, setting the stage for an exciting competition at Royal Montreal Golf Club.
