Ian Poulter has been a member of the LIV Golf League for two years now and has found numerous positives in his move from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. The 48-year-old golfer has earned millions of dollars while rediscovering his love for playing all around the world and has enjoyed a slimmed-down schedule. Although wins have been harder to come by, Poulter has cherished his time with the PIF-backed circuit. However, he does admit to missing some friends from his previous tours, as he no longer sees them regularly on the LIV Golf League.

Speaking exclusively to Golf Monthly at the International Series England, Poulter reflected on his time with the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, noting that there is not much he misses aside from the camaraderie with fellow players. During the first part of his pro career, Poulter traveled extensively for DP World Tour events across Asia, Africa, and Europe, showcasing high-level golf in various global destinations. While he began featuring more on the PGA Tour and traveled less, Poulter is now delighted to be back traveling with the LIV Golf League, which has tournaments outside of the US in its schedule.

As a five-time Ryder Cup winner, Poulter has always embraced the travel aspect of golf and is excited to be taking the game to international destinations once again with LIV. The LIV Golf League, which has 14 events including eight tournaments outside of the US, allows Poulter to explore the world and showcase his skills on a global stage. He appreciates the opportunity to bring the game of golf to different parts of the world and sees it as a massive plus for both himself and his fellow competitors.

Poulter acknowledges that the format change between the LIV Golf League and his previous tours is different, but he is enjoying the new challenges and opportunities that come with it. While he misses some friends from his previous tours, Poulter is grateful for the experiences and memories he has made with the LIV Golf League. The opportunity to compete in elevated events on the Asian Tour and earn a spot in the LIV Golf League rankings is a motivating factor for Poulter, who is determined to continue competing at a high level and showcasing his skills on a global stage.

Overall, Ian Poulter’s move to the LIV Golf League has been a positive experience for the 48-year-old golfer. Despite missing some friends from his previous tours, Poulter is relishing the opportunity to travel the world once again and compete in high-profile events with the LIV Golf League. With a renewed sense of passion for the game and a slimmed-down schedule, Poulter is focused on continuing to compete at a high level and making the most of his time with the PIF-backed circuit.
