The 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic has been an exciting event so far, with players showcasing their skills at the Detroit Golf Club. However, Mother Nature has decided to throw a wrench into the plans for Round 3 of the tournament. The PGA Tour Communication’s official X account announced the delay of the start of the third round due to inclement weather. Play has been pushed back multiple times, with the latest start time scheduled for 12:48 p.m. ET.

The predicted weather forecast for the third round doesn’t look promising until around 4 p.m. EST, leading to uncertainty about when play will actually begin on Saturday. In an effort to speed up the pace of play, the PGA Tour announced that groupings for Round 3 would include threesomes. This adjustment is aimed at ensuring the completion of the third round on Saturday, but with delays in fan entry, the start of the tournament remains up in the air.

If play is postponed at any point during Saturday, fans with Saturday grounds tickets will be allowed to use them for Sunday’s play. Fans and players alike are hoping for improved weather conditions in time for the Rocket Mortgage Classic to proceed as planned. For those looking to watch the action unfold, the Golf Channel will offer early coverage at 1 p.m. ET, followed by CBS at 3 p.m. ET. Peacock will simulcast Golf Channel’s coverage, and Paramount+ will stream CBS’ coverage.

The Round 3 groupings for the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic have been announced, with players taking to both Tee No. 1 and Tee No. 10. Among the notable groupings are Ben Silverman and Vince Whaley, as well as Ryan Fox, Matt Kuchar, and Rickie Fowler. With a mix of seasoned professionals and rising stars, the third round promises to be an exciting day of golf.

Overall, the Rocket Mortgage Classic may be facing delays and uncertainties due to inclement weather, but the anticipation for the third round remains high. Fans and players are hopeful that Mother Nature will cooperate and allow for a successful day of competition. Stay tuned to see how the tournament unfolds, as golf enthusiasts eagerly await the resumption of play at the Detroit Golf Club.
