Jordan Spieth to undergo wrist surgery during off-season; Will Zalatoris reports strong back health

Jordan Spieth and Will Zalatoris, both from Texas, have faced challenges this season due to injuries but are determined to push through and perform well in the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs. Spieth, dealing with a lingering left wrist injury, has consulted with multiple doctors and is considering surgery in the offseason to address the issue. Despite not experiencing pain while playing, Spieth has been dealing with discomfort off the course, affecting his performance with iron clubs. He remains optimistic about his golfing future and believes he has many more years of competitive golf ahead of him.

Zalatoris, who had back surgery last year, has also faced setbacks this season but feels he has made progress and is in good shape leading into the playoffs. After withdrawing from a couple of events earlier this year to rest his back, Zalatoris now feels back to 100 percent and has regained his speed with longer clubs. Despite not achieving the results he had hoped for in recent tournaments, Zalatoris is focused on the long-term recovery process and remains motivated to improve his game and physical condition.

Spieth explained that his injury is not caused by his swing but rather arises randomly, leading to discomfort that affects him off the course. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his injury and the need for corrective action, Spieth remains determined to address the issue and return to top form. Zalatoris, on the other hand, has learned to be patient with his recovery process, understanding that it will have its ups and downs before ultimately improving over time. His surgeons had prepared him for the challenges of recovery, and he is motivated to continue working towards a full recovery.

Both Spieth and Zalatoris are currently ranked in the FedEx Cup standings, with Spieth at No. 63 and Zalatoris at No. 43. Despite their injuries and recent struggles, both players remain confident in their abilities and are looking forward to competing in the playoffs. With a focus on their long-term health and performance, Spieth and Zalatoris are committed to putting in the work necessary to overcome their injuries and return to top form on the golf course. As they prepare for the upcoming challenges, both players are determined to push through their setbacks and achieve success in the remaining tournaments of the season.
