The CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Fla., will conclude with the final round being played in threesomes off Nos. 1 and 10 after three days of twosomes off the first tee. Lexi Thompson, currently at 4 under and in a share of 29th place, will tee off from No. 10 at 8:50 a.m. in what could potentially be her last appearance at the tournament. Thompson announced that 2024 will be her final full season on the LPGA, and it may be challenging for her to qualify for events with limited starts. She expressed disappointment on Instagram about not being able to finish on No. 18 and connect with fans at the final hole due to the change in tee placements on the last day for TV coverage.

On Instagram, Thompson shared her feelings about the split-tee start and not being able to finish on No.18, citing it as a bittersweet moment for what could be her final CME appearance. Despite her standings in the tournament, Thompson remains a force to be reckoned with on the LPGA tour, having won 11 times and claiming the CME title in 2018. The final round of the CME Group Tour Championship will be televised live from 1-4 p.m. ET on NBC, giving fans a chance to watch Thompson and the rest of the field compete for the title.

Following the conclusion of the CME Group Tour Championship, Thompson will return to Tiburon Golf Club for the Grant Thornton Invitational next month, where she will be paired with Rickie Fowler. This event will provide Thompson with another opportunity to showcase her skills and compete against a strong field of players. As she prepares to wind down her full-time career on the LPGA tour, Thompson’s presence on the course continues to draw attention and admiration from fans and fellow competitors alike.

Thompson’s decision to retire from full-time competition on the LPGA tour after the 2024 season marks the end of an era for one of the sport’s most talented and popular players. Throughout her career, Thompson has demonstrated a remarkable ability to excel under pressure and compete at the highest level. As she looks ahead to the next chapter in her life, Thompson’s legacy on the LPGA tour will undoubtedly endure, inspiring future generations of players to follow in her footsteps and strive for greatness on the course.

In addition to her success on the LPGA tour, Thompson has also made a name for herself as a role model and ambassador for the sport of golf. Her dedication to the game, sportsmanship, and charitable efforts have earned her respect and admiration from fans and peers alike. As she transitions into retirement, Thompson will have the opportunity to focus on new ventures and continue to make a positive impact on the golfing community. With her talent, drive, and passion for the game, Thompson’s influence will be felt for years to come.

As Thompson prepares for the final round of the CME Group Tour Championship and reflects on her storied career, fans and fellow players are sure to be watching closely to see how she performs. Whether she finishes on a high note at the tournament or not, Thompson’s impact on the sport of golf and the LPGA tour will be remembered for years to come. With her decision to retire from full-time competition after the 2024 season, Thompson leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and motivate players for generations to come.
