Lexi Thompson, a top-tier LPGA pro, is gearing up to retire at the end of the 2024 season. The decision comes after a successful career filled with achievements, including 11 LPGA wins and a major championship. Thompson, who entered the pro scene at a young age, is looking forward to a break from the isolating and demanding nature of professional golf.

Throughout her career, Thompson has been a fan favorite, known for her engaging personality and willingness to interact with fans. Despite facing devastating losses at major championships, she remains committed to giving back to the game and elevating women’s golf. Thompson’s decision to retire is driven by a desire to focus on herself, her family, and life outside of golf.

Thompson’s retirement announcement was met with a mix of emotions, but she has felt an outpouring of support from fans, family, and friends. At 29 years old, she has been competing on the LPGA Tour since she was 16 and is now ready to step back from a full-time golf schedule. While she may still compete occasionally, Thompson is looking forward to a new chapter in her life.

Reflecting on her career, Thompson acknowledges the ups and downs she has experienced, from early success to heartbreaking losses. Despite the challenges, she is grateful for the opportunities she has had to live out her dream of playing golf professionally. Thompson is focusing on taking time for herself and enjoying life outside of the competitive golf world.

Thompson’s post-retirement plans include launching a fitness app and potentially opening her own gym. Family remains a top priority for her, and she envisions herself settled down, married, and possibly with children in the next five years. Looking ahead, Thompson is most excited about the prospect of sleeping in and living a laid-back, normal life without the pressures of a full-time golf career.

As one of the first golfers to speak openly about mental health and the challenges of social media, Thompson emphasizes the importance of seeking help and sharing emotions. She hopes to inspire others to prioritize their well-being and live their best lives. Despite the pressures and criticisms she has faced throughout her career, Thompson remains focused on the positive impact she can have on fans and the game of golf.
