Local Las Vegas Resident Brady Exber Shares Lead

Las Vegas native Brady Exber showcased his golf skills at the Golfweek Senior Desert Showdown held at Paiute Golf Resort. Despite challenging conditions, Exber managed to move into a share of the lead with a second-round 7-over 79, which was one of the lowest scores in the division. His round included a birdie and an eagle, showcasing his consistency on the course.

Exber’s participation in the Golfweek event comes on the heels of leading the West team to victory at the East West Matches in Texas. With a long list of titles in Southern Nevada and Las Vegas, as well as USGA starts, Exber is known as one of the most prolific golfers in the region. His impressive performance at the Senior Desert Showdown has put him in a tie for the lead with Matthew Avril, the first-round co-leader.

The competition remains tight at the top of the leaderboard, with two players tied for third and three players tied for fifth place. In the Super Senior division, Kevin Belknap from Wichita, Kansas, holds the lead at 15 over, closely followed by Terry Tyson of Ohio. Greg Goode from Kansas had the best round of the day with a 5-over 77, moving him into solo fourth place.

In the Legends division, Neil Spitalny from Tennessee leads by five shots after rounds of 77 and 81. Las Vegas player Steven Johnson is leading the Super Legends division with rounds of 81 and 80, just one shot ahead of Greg Mokler from Colorado. The tournament has seen impressive performances from golfers across various divisions, with the leaderboard reflecting the high level of competition.

Las Vegas’s golfing community is well-represented at the Golfweek event, with players like Exber and Johnson showcasing their skills on the course.
