Maverick McNealy, a professional golfer, has a longstanding deal with his Grandma Marm that every time he earns $50,000 at a tournament, he has to send her flowers. This has become a sort of tradition for McNealy and his grandmother, who takes pride in his success on the PGA Tour. She also receives chocolates for his top-10 finishes. However, winning his first PGA Tour event at the RSM Classic and earning $1,365,000 is a milestone for McNealy and his grandmother.

Following his victory at the RSM Classic with a 5-foot birdie at the 72nd hole for a one-stroke victory, McNealy expressed his desire for his grandmother to display the silver trophy on her mantlepiece. He describes his grandmother as his biggest fan who closely watches his shots during tournaments. At 97 years old, she finds joy and purpose in following her grandson’s golfing career, to the point where she refuses to be disturbed while watching him play.

Although Grandma Marm was too nervous to watch the final round of the RSM Classic, McNealy knows she will be proud of his achievement. He acknowledges the superstition surrounding his grandmother, jokingly referring to her as a “witch” who brings bad luck if he forgets to send her flowers. To avoid any mishaps, McNealy plans to not only send flowers and chocolates but also something extra special to celebrate his victory on the PGA Tour.

McNealy values the support and love of his grandmother, recognizing the impact her encouragement has had on his career. He credits her unwavering belief in his abilities as a driving force behind his success on the golf course. Despite the pressure and expectations that come with being a professional golfer, McNealy finds comfort in knowing that his grandmother is cheering him on every step of the way.

As McNealy’s career continues to evolve, he remains grateful for his grandmother’s unwavering support and guidance. Her presence at his tournaments, either physically or in spirit, serves as a source of motivation and inspiration for McNealy. He cherishes the connection he shares with his grandmother and looks forward to sharing more milestones and victories with her in the future.

In conclusion, Maverick McNealy’s relationship with his Grandma Marm goes beyond a simple tradition of sending flowers after a successful tournament. Their bond is rooted in love, support, and shared joy in his accomplishments. As McNealy’s career flourishes, he remains committed to honoring his grandmother’s role in his journey and finding ways to express his gratitude for her unwavering belief in him. Their story serves as a reminder of the power of family, faith, and superstition in the world of professional sports.
