Max Homa is gearing up for the 2025 Masters, looking to build on his T3 finish from the previous year. Despite not winning, he felt accomplished and believed it was a stepping stone to greater success in the future. However, the past year has been filled with challenges as he made significant changes in his golf game. Homa split with his longtime coach, Mark Blackburn, and is now working with a new coach, John Scott Rattan. He also changed clothing sponsors and golf clubs in pursuit of improvements in his game. Homa acknowledges that the biggest challenge has been adapting to swing changes and hopes to reach his full potential.

Last week, Homa experienced another change as he parted ways with his longtime caddie, Joe Greiner. While the split was not his choice, Homa values their friendship above all else and understands the importance of maintaining strong relationships outside of golf. Greiner is caddying for Homa’s friend, Justin Thomas, at the Masters this week, filling in for Thomas’ usual caddie, Matt Minister. Despite these changes, Homa remains optimistic about his game, noting that he feels confident in his abilities on the range and at home. He is focused on finding his rhythm and believes that the Masters is a perfect opportunity to turn things around.

Homa’s recent struggles have reflected in his world ranking, dropping to World No. 81 and experiencing a string of missed cuts. His iron play has been particularly challenging, leading to losses in scoring compared to the field. Homa recognizes the need for change and improvement, especially in his shot-making and creativity on the course. He views the Masters as a unique opportunity to showcase his skills and turn his performance around. This season of change extends beyond golf for Homa, as he and his wife, Lacey, are expecting their second child, adding another layer of excitement and anticipation for the future.

The pressure is on for Homa to deliver a strong performance at the Masters and reverse his recent struggles. With a supportive team behind him and a renewed sense of optimism, he is focused on making the necessary adjustments to his game. The challenges and changes he has faced in the past year have only fueled his determination to succeed and reach his full potential. Homa’s journey at the Masters symbolizes a new beginning and a fresh start, both on and off the course. As he navigates the challenges of professional golf, Homa remains dedicated to his craft and eager to showcase his skills at one of the most prestigious events in the sport.
