Max Homa was one of nine players who withdrew from the Farmers Insurance Open due to brutal gusting winds at Torrey Pines. Homa, the 2023 champion, had three holes left to play on the North Course when play was suspended. He decided to withdraw from the event, sitting at four over for the day and nine over for the tournament. Homa’s performance was not up to his usual standard, with his first-round 77 being one of his worst scores in 25 rounds at the Farmers. The second round was suspended due to darkness, with play set to resume the following morning. Additional withdrawals during the event included players like Emiliano Grillo, Nate Lashley, and Braden Thornberry. Illness was a common reason cited for many of the withdrawals, indicating potential health issues affecting the players’ performances.
