Nelly Korda continues her dominance in the LPGA by winning her seventh title of the season at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. Despite starting the final day one shot behind Charley Hull, Korda came back from a two-shot deficit on the front nine to secure a three-shot victory at 14 under par. This win marks Korda’s seventh title of the season, making her the first player since Yani Tseng in 2011 to achieve seven or more wins in a single season. Korda had already secured the LPGA’s Rolex Player of the Year award prior to this victory, despite taking time off due to a neck injury. She now has the opportunity to make history by winning an eighth title at the upcoming CME Group Tour Championship, potentially becoming the first player to do so since Lorena Ochoa in 2007.

Korda credited her caddie Jason McDede for helping her turn her game around on the back nine, where she made five consecutive birdies to secure the victory. She also received support from her brother, professional tennis player Sebastian Korda, who witnessed her win for the first time in person. Sebastian praised Nelly’s work ethic and resilience, highlighting her dedication to the sport. This victory also marked Korda’s first win of the season with a new putter, the TaylorMade Spider Tour X, which she switched to before the AIG Women’s Open. Despite limited use of the new putter due to her injury, Korda’s performance with it has been impressive, showcasing its effectiveness in her game.

Throughout the season, Korda has demonstrated consistent excellence on the LPGA tour, solidifying her position as one of the top players in the sport. Her ability to perform under pressure and make crucial shots when needed has set her apart from her competitors. Korda’s success has also been highlighted by her strong partnership with her caddie, who has been instrumental in guiding her through tough moments on the course. With her seventh win of the season, Korda has further solidified her status as a dominant force in women’s golf, inspiring admiration and respect from fans and fellow players alike.

Korda’s victory at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican showcases her mental toughness and competitive spirit, qualities that have defined her success throughout the season. Despite facing challenges early in the final round, Korda maintained her composure and rallied to secure yet another impressive win. Her performance on the back nine, where she made crucial birdies to seize the lead, exemplifies her ability to rise to the occasion in high-pressure situations. As she looks ahead to the CME Group Tour Championship and the opportunity to make history with an eighth win, Korda’s determination and focus will be key factors in her quest for continued success on the LPGA tour.

Korda’s victory at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican not only solidifies her position as an elite player in women’s golf but also serves as a testament to her resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Despite setbacks and challenges, Korda has consistently risen to the occasion and delivered stellar performances on the course. Her unwavering commitment to her craft and relentless work ethic have propelled her to the top of the sport, earning her admiration and respect from fans, peers, and observers alike. As she continues her quest for greatness in the remaining events of the season, Korda’s exceptional talent and competitive spirit will undoubtedly make her a formidable contender in the world of professional golf.
