Oximity Driver Review: A ‘Revolutionary’ Solution for Chronic Slicers

Oximity Driver Review: The Game-Changer for Slicers?

The golf equipment scene is like a bustling marketplace, full of big names with years of research and development backing them. So it’s always exciting when a fresh brand like Oximity Golf steps into the ring with a driver meant to tackle one of golf’s biggest annoyances: the slice. Trust me, when I heard about this driver, I was intrigued and ready to see if it could actually deliver on its bold promises.

I’ll be real with you; I started this test with a bit of skepticism. After all, can a newcomer really compete with the best drivers in the game? But hey, I’m all about keeping an open mind, especially when it comes to gear that could help your game.

The Anti-Slice Promise

You know the deal: the hunt for that elusive driver that actually fixes your slice. Some of the top drivers for slicers usually come with a closed face angle or an upright lie angle, and others play around with CG location to help mitigate that pesky slice. For a while, manufacturers were all about adding offset to their drivers to fight slices, but that trend faded because let’s face it, no one wants a driver that’s going to fall apart after a few rounds.

Oximity seems to have thrown everything but the kitchen sink into their driver. They claim to have crafted a manufacturing process that ensures durability while addressing these well-known issues.

A Unique Look

Let’s talk aesthetics. When I pulled the Oximity driver out of its headcover, the first thing that hit me was its wild look from the playing position. The offset hosel design is something you don’t see every day. It’s a style that might split opinions—some will dig it, while others might raise an eyebrow. Honestly, at first, I wondered if I could handle it, but soon enough, my eye adjusted, and it started to feel like a purpose-built tool, rather than a gimmicky design.

Impact and Feel

Once I got into the swing of things, the impact felt solid. This driver didn’t have that annoying “tin can” sound some clubs have, nor was it too soft; it hit a sweet spot right in the middle. When I made contact, the result was a satisfying ‘thwack’—the kind that screams confidence and gives you that sense of control.

The Real Action: Anti-Slice Performance

Now, let’s get to the best part—the performance. Oximity touts their "Extreme Draw Bias" and "Unique Offset Hosel" as game-winners, and you know what? They deliver. For a right-handed golfer like me who’s been cursed with a slice, having a driver that just wants to pull left was like finding a pot of gold.

I’m serious; every swing felt like a step closer to transforming my game. This driver is designed explicitly to battle slices, and it does so at a level I’ve never experienced before. If you have a tendency to slice your drives, the Oximity might just be your new best friend.

Ball Speed and Numbers

Aside from correcting direction, the numbers on this bad boy were genuinely impressive. The Oximity driver cranked up my ball speeds to a level that was only a few miles per hour shy of some of those pricey brands that are considered the gold standard. Knowing they used premium materials like a carbon fiber crown and titanium face made me think they weren’t just all looks—this thing carries some serious performance potential.

Forgiveness Factor

Another pleasant surprise was how forgiving this driver is. Even when I hit a bit off-center, it still managed to maintain decent ball speed and direction—albeit always to the left. This is super crucial for any game-improvement driver because let’s face it, not every swing is going to be perfect.

The launch consistently kept the ball flying high without overdoing the spin, which is perfect for most average swing speeds.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

So, what’s the verdict? The Oximity driver is a fascinating product that stands out in a crowded market. Its unusual design may take some getting used to, but once you do, it offers incredible performance, especially for chronic slicers. It’s built well, delivers impressive ball speed numbers, and, most importantly, it absolutely works as an anti-slice tool.

Now, here’s the kicker: with a price tag around £415, it’s definitely on the higher end, especially for a newcomer. But when you consider all the tech packed into this driver to help those who have struggled with slicing for ages, it might just be worth every penny. If you’re determined to tackle that slice once and for all, the Oximity driver is definitely a game-changing investment you might want to consider.

In conclusion, the golf world has a new player that’s worth keeping an eye on. If you’re tired of seeing your ball veer off into the woods, give the Oximity driver a shot—it may just deliver the slice-fixing magic you’ve been chasing for years!
