The U.S. Open has a long and storied history, with Pinehurst No. 2 hosting the prestigious event four times, in 1999, 2005, 2014, and most recently this week. Each of these tournaments was memorable, with the winners showcasing their skills and equipment on the challenging course. In 2014, Martin Kaymer added his name to the list of U.S. Open champions at Pinehurst No. 2. Kaymer’s winning setup included a TaylorMade SLDR 460 driver with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6 X shaft, a TaylorMade SLDR 3-wood with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7 X shaft, TaylorMade Tour Preferred MC irons with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts, TaylorMade TP xFT wedges with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 shafts, a Ping Karsten Anser 2 putter, and a TaylorMade Lethal ball. Kaymer’s precision and consistency, combined with his meticulously chosen equipment, led to his victory at the challenging U.S. Open venue.
