Prince’s Golf Club, host of the 1932 Open Championship, has announced plans for major upgrades to its clubhouse in January 2025. These upgrades will include both aesthetic and functional improvements to enhance the experience for both members and visitors. The clubhouse will feature a full white rendering exterior with new windows, refurbished outdoor staircases, and a new pathway to improve the entrance experience.

In addition to these upgrades, a new lift will be installed to make Prince’s fully accessible for all guests. A dedicated trolley storage area will also be added, providing greater convenience for members before and after their rounds. General Manager Rob McGuirk expressed the importance of these upgrades in aligning the clubhouse facilities with the quality of the championship links at Prince’s Golf Club.

The improvements are expected to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the clubhouse while significantly improving functionality for both members and visitors. Prince’s Golf Club, located in Sandwich Bay, Kent, is one of the oldest links facilities in the country with a rich history of hosting prestigious events. The club offers 27 holes of quality links golf, extensive practice facilities, and a centrally located clubhouse with helpful and attentive staff.

Prince’s Golf Club has a history that rivals the finest courses globally, having hosted the 1932 Open Championship as well as more recent events such as final Open Qualifying and co-hosting the Amateur Championship. The club also offers accommodation at The Lodge at Prince’s with views over Sandwich Bay & Royal St. George’s, as well as a 2AA Rosette Brasserie on the Bay for dining. Four-balls, groups, company days, and society bookings are accepted seven days a week, subject to availability.
