Toptracer, the world’s leading range technology provider, has recently announced a five-year partnership with The R&A for The Open and AIG Women’s Open. This partnership aims to enhance the fan experience both on-site at championships and at golf facilities using Toptracer technology. The collaboration will be highlighted at The 152nd Open at Royal Troon, where Toptracer will integrate its technology with Foresight Sports at The R&A Swing Zone to offer spectators a unique indoor experience.

As the Official Ball Tracking Technology Supplier, Toptracer will continue to provide its tracing technology at The Open and AIG Women’s Open. The Tournament Range technology will be available at the Championship driving range, displaying ball traces with data points like carry distance, ball speed, and launch angle. This feature will be showcased on a large LED screen for spectators and TV viewers, providing trusted data for competitors and enhancing engagement for all attendees.

In addition to the technological advancements at the championships, golfers will have the opportunity to experience Royal Troon through the Virtual Golf mode at over 1,000 Toptracer Range sites worldwide. They can also participate in a global ‘Closest to Pin’ competition inspired by the famous ‘Postage Stamp’ 8th hole at Royal Troon. This interactive and engaging experience aims to connect golfers from around the world and bring them closer to the Championship venues.

Scott Blevins, General Manager of Toptracer, expressed gratitude for the partnership with The R&A, highlighting the team’s dedication to providing an unparalleled viewing experience at The Open. Neil Armit, Chief Commercial Officer at The R&A, emphasized the importance of Toptracer’s technology in delivering the best viewer experience at The Open since 2010. The accuracy, innovation, and global presence of Toptracer made them the ideal choice for a long-term partnership.

The partnership between Toptracer and The R&A not only benefits spectators at The Open and AIG Women’s Open but also brings value and enjoyment to golfers worldwide. The new Toptracer Range Indoor solution, set to launch on September 1, 2024, will be available for proshops and retailers, offering golfers the chance to experience Championship venues at their local Toptracer Ranges. Virtual events and more Championship content will also be accessible across digital channels, creating an exciting opportunity for golfers everywhere to engage with the sport.

Overall, the Toptracer and The R&A partnership signifies a commitment to innovation, technology, and enhancing the fan and golfer experience. With new indoor applications, advanced tracking technology, and global competitions, this collaboration is set to bring golf fans closer to the action and elevate the game to new heights. As Toptracer continues to evolve and provide cutting-edge solutions, golf enthusiasts can look forward to a more interactive and immersive experience both on and off the course.
