The 2025 American Express Champion was Sepp Straka, who outlasted a star-studded leaderboard including Jason Day and Justin Thomas to capture his third PGA Tour victory. This win was Straka’s first since July 2023, marking a long-awaited return to the winners circle for the talented golfer. The tournament featured top players such as Rickie Fowler and Patrick Cantlay, with Justin Thomas showing signs of returning to major championship form with a second-place finish. Cantlay also impressed with consistent play throughout the event, finishing tied for fifth.

Despite the low rounds and impressive performances, there was plenty of drama at the tournament, particularly at hole 11 where a deep bunker on the left side of the green caused trouble for many players. PGA Tour rookie William Mouw struggled on this hole, making an octuple bogey (13) after getting stuck in the bunker. Jason Day, however, had a strong showing in the desert, starting with an opening round of 64 and continuing with solid play throughout the week. He ultimately finished just behind Straka in the standings.

Sepp Straka’s victory was the highlight of the week, with his consistent play and ability to avoid bogeys until his 70th hole showcasing his skill and determination. Even with a four-stroke lead at the 70th hole and a three-stroke lead heading into the final hole on Sunday, Straka maintained his focus and secured the win as the 2025 American Express Champion. The PGA Tour now moves on to the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, where Matthieu Pavon is the defending champion.

Straka’s performance was supported by his equipment, including a Callaway driver, 3 wood, and 7 wood, Srixon irons, Cleveland wedges, Odyssey putter, and Srixon golf balls. This combination of clubs helped him navigate the challenging course and make key shots when it mattered most. As Straka celebrates his victory and looks ahead to future tournaments, fans and competitors alike are eager to see if he can continue his winning streak and solidify his status as one of the top players on the PGA Tour.

Overall, the 2025 American Express was a thrilling tournament filled with standout performances, unexpected challenges, and moments of excitement on the course. Sepp Straka’s victory was a testament to his skill and composure under pressure, as he held off tough competition to claim the title. With the Farmers Insurance Open on the horizon, golf fans can look forward to more exciting moments on the PGA Tour as the season continues to unfold. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the world of professional golf as the best players in the world compete for glory and recognition on the biggest stages in the sport.
