Review of the Bushnell Phantom 2 Golf GPS

Bushnell is well-known in the golf industry for their rangefinders, but they also offer GPS devices like the Phantom 2. This budget-friendly device is popular among golfers for its simplicity and affordability. In this review, we will take a closer look at the performance and features of the Bushnell Phantom 2 Golf GPS.

When you unbox the Phantom 2, you will find the GPS device, a USB C charging cable, belt clip with carabiner, and a quick start guide. A full manual is available online, and Bushnell states that the device can be connected to their app for updates. However, at the time of writing, the Phantom 2 was not listed in the app for updates. Despite this, using the Phantom 2 is simple with four buttons for navigation.

The Bushnell Phantom 2 offers good accuracy and speed compared to other similarly priced GPS units. It provides accurate yardages with rare discrepancies and features a hazard display that includes 100, 150, and 200 yard layup distances along with hazards like bunkers and water. The device also offers green view, allowing you to move the pin to different locations on the green for better yardage assessment.

One of the standout features of the Phantom 2 is its battery life, lasting over 18 hours on a single charge. This is a significant advantage for players who dislike having to charge their devices frequently. The device comes in four colors – black, neon orange, grey camo, and royal blue, offering variety for different preferences.

Priced at $130, the Bushnell Phantom 2 offers good value for its performance and features. While it may not have a color screen or advanced capabilities, it is a reliable GPS device for aiding in your game. The device is comparable in price to the Shot Scope H4, but in 2022, the H4 may be a better option for those seeking shot tracking features.

In conclusion, the Bushnell Phantom 2 Golf GPS is a solid choice for golfers looking for a simple and affordable GPS device. With good accuracy, speed, and battery life, it can help improve your game without breaking the bank. Consider the Phantom 2 if its size and features match your needs on the course.
