Review of the TaylorMade Qi35 LS Driver

The year 2024 was a successful one for TaylorMade’s Qi10 range of drivers, particularly on the men’s professional tours with players like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. However, the LS model did not see as much success as the standard Qi10 model. To address this, TaylorMade has launched the Qi35 LS driver for 2025. The new driver is designed to compete with the best drivers on the market and features advanced technology focused on CG projection.

The Qi35 range from TaylorMade focuses on shifting the CG lower and further back in the head, resulting in higher launch and less spin. The LS model of the Qi35 features three adjustable weights, replacing the moveable weight track to optimize weight distribution. The visual appeal of the Qi35 LS is striking, with a light grey carbon finish and minimal branding for a futuristic and premium look.

The pear-shaped profile of the Qi35 LS is reminiscent of previous TaylorMade drivers, offering a familiar and preferred shape for many players. The performance of the driver was tested using a launch monitor and Titleist Pro V1x golf balls, showcasing exceptional ball speed, distance, and low spin numbers. Despite its impressive performance, the Qi35 LS was found to be more volatile and less forgiving compared to the standard Qi35 model.

While the Qi35 LS offers incredibly low spin and impressive MOI in its neutral setting, it may struggle to compete with the versatility and forgiveness of the standard Qi35 model. Players seeking the lowest-spinning driver may still find value in the Qi35 LS, especially when adjusted for even lower spin numbers. The driver is priced at an RRP of £529/$649 and comes with a choice of Mitsubishi Kai’li Blue DarkWave or White DarkWave as the stock shaft offering.

Overall, the TaylorMade Qi35 LS is a solid low-spin driver with stunning looks, designed to appeal to players looking for maximum performance and distance off the tee. While it may not be the top choice for all players, it offers a compelling option for those seeking the ultimate in spin reduction and ball speed. With its advanced technology and sleek design, the Qi35 LS is sure to make a mark in the competitive driver market for 2025.
