The PGA Tour is hopeful that President Donald Trump will assist in their negotiations with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund to unify men’s pro golf. After facing obstacles with the previous administration’s justice department, the PGA Tour believes that Trump’s administration could have a more positive view of the merger. Commissioner Jay Monahan and golfer Adam Scott recently met with Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss the negotiations, and Tiger Woods played golf with the president on Sunday. Rory McIlroy, who previously played golf with Trump, sees the president as an ally to the PGA Tour and believes that Trump’s position and influence can help bring top players back together.

McIlroy expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to use his direct access to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to facilitate the deal. From a practical business standpoint, it makes sense for the PGA Tour to align with Trump, as he has hosted LIV events at his courses and has a good relationship with many golf stars. Monahan described his meeting with Trump as productive and hopes for more meetings in the future to move negotiations in the right direction. Trump’s passion for golf, knowledge of the game, and experience as a dealmaker make him an asset in the efforts to reunite men’s pro golf.

Monahan hinted at progress between the PGA Tour and the PIF but was cautious about predicting a timeline for the reunification of the game. The focus remains on what is best for fans and the future of the game, seeking a solution where everyone benefits. The PGA Tour recognizes the need to move forward and unify the game, despite past conflicts and tensions. McIlroy believes that everyone involved must let go of the past and focus on coming together for the betterment of the sport.

Ultimately, the PGA Tour is looking to Trump to help bridge the divide and bring unity to men’s pro golf. With various parties involved, there is a sense of enthusiasm for reaching an agreement that will benefit the players and the fans. The goal is to set aside differences and work towards a common goal of reunifying the game. Trump’s involvement, with his love for golf and negotiation skills, is seen as a positive step towards resolving the ongoing conflict within the sport.

As negotiations progress, the PGA Tour remains optimistic about the potential for reunification and is committed to working with all parties involved, including Trump, to achieve this goal. The focus is on looking forward and finding a solution that benefits everyone, putting aside past grievances and conflicts. With Trump’s support and influence, there is hope that men’s pro golf can reunite and move forward in a unified direction. The PGA Tour is eager to see how Trump’s involvement can help push negotiations towards a successful resolution that will benefit the entire golfing community.
