World number one Scottie Scheffler is in the lead at the PGA Tour’s season-ending Tour Championship, holding a five-shot advantage going into the final round. With birdies on four of the final five holes in the third round, Scheffler finished strong to reach a 26-under-par total, putting him ahead of Collin Morikawa by five strokes. Despite Morikawa narrowing the gap to two shots on the front nine, Scheffler responded with back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes.

Scheffler expressed confidence in his chances for victory on Sunday, having missed out on previous opportunities to win tournaments. He is aiming for his first FedExCup title after coming close in past seasons. Morikawa remains in contention after finishing the third round strong, with birdies on three of his last four holes. He acknowledges the challenge ahead but believes in his ability to compete against Scheffler in the final round.

Sahith Theegala made a significant move on Saturday, overcoming a two-shot penalty to finish with five straight birdies and secure third place on 17 under. Xander Schauffele, who was Scheffler’s closest competitor at the start of the week, sits in fourth place on 16 under after a level-par 71 in the third round. Shane Lowry made an impressive climb with a six-under 65, placing him in eighth position on the leaderboard, while Rory McIlroy’s performance in the third round left him tied for 10th place on 11 under.

The Tour Championship promises an exciting finale, with Scheffler and Morikawa leading the pack in pursuit of the $25m first prize. Fans can stay updated on the latest scores by checking the Tour Championship leaderboard. The competition remains intense as players strive to secure their positions in the final round and make a final push for victory. As the season comes to a close, the golfers are determined to give it their all and finish on a high note.

The Tour Championship has seen some impressive performances and unexpected twists, with players like Theegala and Lowry making significant moves up the leaderboard. Schauffele and McIlroy are also in the mix, showcasing their skills and determination to compete at the highest level. The final round promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the PGA Tour season, with Scheffler and Morikawa battling it out for the coveted title. Fans can expect an exciting finish as the top players vie for the championship and the lucrative first prize.
