The Tour Championship is heating up with Scottie Scheffler maintaining his lead but facing stiff competition from Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele. Scheffler’s second round saw a rare bogey at No. 13 but he still managed to shoot a 66 to stay at the top with a 21 under after two rounds. Morikawa posted an impressive 63 to cut Scheffler’s lead to four, while Schauffele improved with a 64 to remain in contention. Justin Thomas also showed improvement with rounds of 66 and 69. The Presidents Cup captains are keeping an eye on potential picks, with Sam Burns, Tony Finau, and Russell Henley making good impressions.

Collin Morikawa is staying focused on his game plan to keep the pressure on Scheffler. He made birdies on half the holes at East Lake and believes in his ability to go low and make birdies. Morikawa chipped in for birdie at 13 and added more birdies to close out his round strong. Xander Schauffele bounced back from a disappointing opening round with a 7-under 64, ranking seventh in proximity and improving in Strokes Gained: Putting. He plans to keep his head down and play his best to contend with Scheffler. Scottie Scheffler, on the other hand, is staying steady with his game, avoiding errors and sticking to his putting and wedge game.

The competition at the Tour Championship is fierce, with players like Sam Burns, Tony Finau, and Justin Thomas making strong moves to climb up the leaderboard. The Presidents Cup picks will be announced soon, and the performances at the Tour Championship will play a role in the selection process. Scheffler is setting records with his impressive performance, aiming to become the first player since Tiger Woods in 2007 to win seven or more times in a single season. The $100 million in bonus money and $25 million for the winner add extra incentive for the players to perform well in the final rounds of the tournament.

As the weekend at the Tour Championship approaches, the competition is intensifying with players like Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele vying for the top spot. The friendly rivalry between Scheffler and Burns adds an interesting dynamic to the tournament, with Burns acknowledging Scheffler’s dominance and talent. The players are focused on making birdies and staying consistent in their game to challenge Scheffler’s lead. With the potential for low scores and close competition, the final rounds of the Tour Championship promise to be exciting and unpredictable.
