The BMW Championship ended dramatically with Keegan Bradley narrowly holding onto his spot, but it did not change the top six U.S. Presidents Cup standings. The six players who qualified for the team by virtue of their performances were Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala. However, captain Jim Furyk will still have to select six additional players as captain’s picks on September 3, and recent form will be a key criteria in his decision-making process.

Similarly, home captain Mike Weir has selected his first six players for the International team, with Hideki Matsuyama leading the way. Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Jason Day, Adam Scott, and Byeong Hung An also secured their spots through automatic qualification. Weir will announce his six captain’s picks following the Tour Championship on September 3, with his picks being revealed on Golf Channel live at 1 p.m. ET.

Among the U.S. automatic picks, Wyndham Clark and Sahith Theegala will be rookies at the Presidents Cup, while Scheffler and Morikawa will be making their second appearances, and Schauffele and Cantlay will be playing in their third event as partners. On the International side, veterans like Adam Scott and Jason Day bring considerable experience, with Scott set to make his 11th appearance at the Presidents Cup.

Notable players like Bradley, Burns, Finau, and others will be vying for captain’s picks, while Weir will be considering names like Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, and Min Woo Lee for the International team. The complete team of 12 players for both the U.S. and International teams will compete at the 15th Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal on September 26-29. With the selection process coming to a close, the excitement and anticipation for this prestigious event are building as fans eagerly await to see the final rosters and matchups.
