In a year full of achievements and breakthroughs, English rising stars Billie-Jo Smith and Megan Dennis have earned promotion to the Ladies European Tour for the upcoming 2025 season after dominating the points list at the end of the 2024 LET Access Series schedule. The two talented golfers finished second and fourth, respectively, in the Order of Merit, with Smith narrowly missing out on a victory in a play-off at the Calatayud Ladies Open in Spain. They will be joined on Europe’s premier professional women’s tour by Kajsa Arwefjall, Tina Mazarino, Anna Magnusson, Natacha Host Husted, and Ariane Klotz, all of whom had successful seasons on the LET Access Series.
Kajsa Arwefjall emerged as the top player in the LET Access Series order of merit, thanks to her two event victories and consistent performance with seven top-five finishes throughout the season. Despite facing tough competition and finishing as a runner-up three times in play-offs, Billie-Jo Smith showcased resilience and determination to secure her spot on the Ladies European Tour. She expressed her gratitude for winning the Players’ Player of the Year Award, highlighting the significance of the recognition and the support she received from her peers. Smith’s journey to success was particularly remarkable considering she had battled injury setbacks the previous season.
Megan Dennis, hailing from Woburn, will be joining Smith on the Ladies European Tour after an outstanding year that included winning the inaugural Get Golfing Women’s Golf Championship and clinching five other top-10 finishes. Dennis reflected on her golfing journey, acknowledging moments of doubt and struggles but ultimately finding renewed passion and motivation through changing coaches and meeting new people. She expressed relief and gratitude for earning her LET card, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the support of her team in overcoming challenges.
The achievements of Smith and Dennis highlight the depth of talent and potential within the English women’s golf scene, with both players showcasing impressive skill and determination to earn their places on the prestigious Ladies European Tour. Their success serves as inspiration for aspiring young golfers and underscores the importance of resilience, hard work, and continuous improvement in pursuing professional golf careers. As they prepare to compete at the highest level of women’s golf in Europe, Smith and Dennis are poised to make significant strides in their careers and further elevate their profiles on the international stage.
