Stoke Park, a luxury hotel, golf, and country club in Buckinghamshire, has recently announced plans to reopen its historic Harry Colt golf course for ‘pay and play’ from June 8. The club, which was closed to members in 2021 after being purchased by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, has seen significant investment in its 300-acre estate. Along with improvements to the golf course and the addition of a new coaching swing studio, the club has plans for extensive renovations, including upgrades to the Grade I listed historic mansion, the construction of ‘seven-star’ hotel villas, and a new clubhouse.

A spokesman for the club stated that while they continue to work on submitting their master plan for the future of Stoke Park, which includes major upgrades to the existing course, the course has been opened for golf coaching and special events. The team is excited to welcome back general play on the existing course as the planning process moves forward. Information on how to book a pay-and-play package can be found on the club’s website.

One of the standout features of Stoke Park is its signature par-3 7th hole, which is sure to challenge golfers of all skill levels. In addition to the golf course, the club has also made changes to its facilities, including obtaining retrospective planning permission to convert the lower ground floor golf club changing rooms into a commercial kitchen. The club cited the need for more modern and spacious facilities as the reason for this change, with plans to relocate the changing rooms to make way for the new kitchen.

Buckinghamshire Council, which owns the freehold of the Stoke Park estate, has granted retrospective permission for the new fishpond and pergola that have been built within the grounds for hosting social events. The club is also gearing up to host the annual Boodles tennis tournament from June 25-29, showcasing the versatile event spaces available on the estate. With these improvements and renovations, Stoke Park is looking to solidify its position as a premier destination for golf, events, and luxury accommodations in Buckinghamshire.

For golf enthusiasts looking to experience the historic Harry Colt course at Stoke Park, the opportunity to book a pay-and-play package is now available. The club’s website offers details on how to make a reservation and experience the challenging and picturesque course for themselves. Whether for a friendly round of golf or a special event, Stoke Park provides a stunning backdrop and top-notch facilities for visitors to enjoy. With ongoing improvements and investments, the future looks bright for this iconic estate in Buckinghamshire.
