The Buckinghamshire Golf Club recently celebrated the grand reopening of its 17th century house after a significant investment of over £10 million. Located just 15 miles from Central London and 10 miles from Heathrow Airport, the historic country estate has been transformed into a prestigious private members’ club. The refurbishment signals the Arora family’s plans to develop a portfolio of world-class golf venues, with Sanjay Arora, President of The Buckinghamshire and Chief Operating Officer of the Arora Group, expressing his delight at the project’s completion.
The reopening event saw VIP guests and members gather to witness the unveiling of the newly renovated house, alongside Sanjay Arora’s father, Surinder Arora, and Chairman of the Board, KP Singh. The club now boasts stylish interiors reminiscent of a London private members’ club, complete with an orangery restaurant, wine bar, whisky room, lounges, locker rooms, and seven new bedroom suites. The golf course has also undergone reconfiguration, offering members a revamped experience both on and off the green.
Kim Partridge, the renowned designer behind The Buckinghamshire’s interior transformation, was commended for her work in bringing the club’s vision of ‘membership reimagined’ to life. Sanjay Arora emphasized the importance of creating comfortable and contemporary spaces for members to enjoy, whether they are golfing, socializing, or conducting business. The house has been designed to be a relaxing home-from-home environment surrounded by natural beauty, catering to a variety of member needs and preferences.
Looking ahead, Arora confirmed plans for further investment in the golf course in 2024/5, as The Buckinghamshire aims to solidify its position as a world-class private members’ club. The club, which is home to the Ladies European Tour, is set to become the flagship property within the growing Arora Group’s golf portfolio. Additionally, plans have been approved for the development of a new golf course at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, with hopes of securing a future Ryder Cup hosting opportunity.
