The field for the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic is almost complete, with 152 spots accounted for as of Monday morning. The tournament, returning to Detroit Golf Club for the sixth time, will be held from June 27-30, with the first round teeing off Thursday. Among the top-ranked golfers coming to town are Tom Kim (No. 16), Cameron Young (23), Chris Kirk (No. 33) and Rickie Fowler, ranked No. 50 and the defending Rocket Mortgage Classic champ after last year’s epic victory. Previous winners returning to Detroit include Cam Davis and Nate Lashley.

Several major winners will also be part of the Rocket Mortgage Classic field, including Stewart Cink, Jason Dufner, Zach Johnson, Francesco Molinari, Webb Simpson, Jimmy Walker, and Gary Woodland. Neal Shipley will be making his PGA Tour debut at the tournament after finishing as low amateur at the Masters and the U.S. Open this year. Willie Mack III also earned a spot at the tournament by winning the John Shippen Invitational. The final four spots in the field will be determined through a qualifier on Monday.

Detroit golf fans can expect a diverse and talented field at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, with a mix of top-ranked players, major winners, and up-and-coming talent. The excitement is building as the tournament approaches, and fans can look forward to four days of thrilling competition on the course. The return to Detroit Golf Club for the sixth time adds to the anticipation, as players showcase their skills on a familiar and challenging course.

Rickie Fowler, the defending champ, will be looking to retain his title in what promises to be a highly competitive tournament. With several previous winners returning, including Cam Davis and Nate Lashley, the competition is set to be fierce. Major winners like Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson, and Webb Simpson add further star power to the field, ensuring a high level of play throughout the event.

The debut of Neal Shipley and the qualification of Willie Mack III add an element of excitement and unpredictability to the tournament. As the final spots are determined through the qualifier, the field is shaping up to be one of the strongest in the history of the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Detroit golf fans can expect a memorable tournament with top-quality golf on display, as the best in the world compete for the prestigious title. The stage is set for an unforgettable event at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
