The 2025 Masters tournament is in full swing, with Justin Rose leading in putting and Bryson DeChambeau leading around the greens. While official ShotLink data is not available for the Masters, DataGolf has provided unofficial strokes gained data for the players. Let’s take a closer look at the leaders in driving, approach, around the green, and putting through 36 holes at Augusta National and the clubs they are using to achieve success.

In the driving category, Rasmus Hojgaard, in his first Masters appearance, leads the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. Using his Callaway Paradym Ai-Smoke Triple Diamond custom driver, Hojgaard is averaging 312 yards off the tee and hitting 20 of 28 fairways. The Ai Smart Face technology in his driver helps optimize launch conditions and tight downrange dispersion, contributing to his success off the tee at Augusta National.

Moving on to the approach category, Matt McCarty, a Ping staffer, is excelling with his iron game. Currently gaining 2.95 strokes on approach shots, McCarty’s Ping Blueprint S custom irons are proving to be reliable and precise. With a compact shape and precision pocket forging technology, these irons offer the control and performance demanded by top players. McCarty’s iron specs include a LH Ping Blueprint S 4-PW setup with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue 120 X100 shafts.

In terms of around the green performance, Bryson DeChambeau is standing out with his short game skills. While known for his driving distance, DeChambeau has gained nearly two shots on the field around the greens at Augusta National. Using Ping s159 and Glide 4.0 wedges, DeChambeau’s club selection plays a crucial role in his success on and around the greens. The tour-inspired design and precision-milled grooves of his wedges enhance his ability to control spin and trajectory.

On the putting greens, Justin Rose has been dominant, picking up a remarkable 3.68 strokes on the green through two rounds. Using a Scotty Cameron 2024 Phantom 5 custom putter, Rose has navigated the treacherous greens of Augusta National without a three-putt, showcasing his putting prowess. The Phantom 5 features refined wing angles for enhanced alignment and a mid-bend shaft for a blade-like feel. Rose’s putter also includes a red dot alignment aid for improved accuracy.

As the tournament progresses into the weekend, these players will look to maintain their strengths in driving, approach, around the green, and putting to secure their positions on the leaderboard. With the competitive nature of the Masters and the challenges presented by Augusta National, consistency and precision in all aspects of the game will be key for success. The combination of talent, skill, and equipment choices will determine the outcome of the 2025 Masters, as players strive to claim the coveted green jacket and etch their names in golf history.

In conclusion, the midway point of the 2025 Masters has showcased the talents of players like Justin Rose, Bryson DeChambeau, Rasmus Hojgaard, and Matt McCarty in various aspects of the game. From driving distance to approach shots, short game skills to putting precision, these players are utilizing their strengths and the right equipment to excel at Augusta National. As the tournament unfolds, the leaderboard is sure to see shifts and surprises, but the importance of consistency and performance across all facets of the game remains constant. Stay tuned as the drama of the Masters continues to unfold, and the battle for the green jacket heats up on the iconic grounds of Augusta National.
