Lydia Ko has had a successful month of August, winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games and securing her first major championship since 2016 at the AIG Women’s Open. Despite difficult weather conditions in Scotland, Ko avoided big numbers and made a surge into contention with four birdies in a six-hole stretch. Following her success at the Olympics, Ko stuck with her Ping-heavy equipment setup at the Old Course. This included Ping G430 Max 10K driver, Ping G430 and Ping i230 hybrids, Ping Blueprint S irons, and Titleist Vokey Design SM10 wedges.

Ko’s driver of choice at the Old Course was the Ping G430 Max 10K. This driver provided her with the distance and accuracy needed to navigate the challenging course. The Ping G430 and Ping i230 hybrids were also crucial in her success, allowing her to handle various lies and distances effectively. Ko’s iron setup included the Ping i230 and Ping Blueprint S, which provided her with the precision and control needed to hit accurate approach shots. Additionally, her Titleist Vokey Design SM10 wedges helped her navigate the tricky links conditions and get up and down around the greens.
