Sun Day Red, Tiger Woods’ golf-apparel brand, has recently unveiled the Pioneer Cypress shoe, designed specifically for Woods. This new release came after Woods appeared at the 2022 Masters without his signature Nike golf shoes, hinting at something new to come. The Pioneer Cypress shoe was created from nearly 20 prototypes that Woods had been wearing on the course during the 2024 season. The design process focused on fit, comfort, performance, and style to meet Woods’ demanding requirements as a golfer.

Sun Day Red’s Executive Creative Director, Charley Hudak, shared that the design team worked closely with Woods’ physio and trainer to ensure the shoe met his needs. The shoe features a more modern, athletic construction that is flexible and comfortable, without the need for a break-in period. The design also prioritizes balance and stability by being lower to the ground with a classic silhouette and wider base. Woods specifically requested a classic look for the shoe, drawing inspiration from some of his past favorite footwear.

The Pioneer Cypress shoe includes subtle nods to Woods, such as his signature motivational phrases on the sock liner and tiger-themed patterns on the outsole. The shoe will be available in five colorways on SunDayRed.com starting on December 4, with three color options priced at $250 each and two limited-edition colorways at $275, featuring Woods’ favorite red accents. The shoe also comes with a two-year waterproof warranty, catering to golfers looking for both style and functionality on the course.

This release marks Sun Day Red’s first retail golf shoe, following the brand’s announcement earlier in 2024 at a launch party in Los Angeles. Woods began wearing the prototypes at the Genesis Invitational in February, showcasing the brand’s commitment to creating high-quality golf apparel tailored to individual player needs. The design process for the Pioneer Cypress shoe spanned over two years, emphasizing the attention to detail and innovation put into creating a shoe that meets Woods’ rigorous standards.

The collaboration between Woods and Sun Day Red represents a new chapter in golf apparel, where top players have the opportunity to work closely with designers to create custom gear. The Pioneer Cypress shoe aims to provide golfers with a premium footwear option that combines performance, comfort, and style. With Woods’ input and expertise guiding the design process, golf enthusiasts can expect a shoe that reflects the needs and preferences of one of the greatest golfers in history. Sun Day Red’s commitment to quality and innovation shines through in the release of the Pioneer Cypress shoe, setting a high standard for future golf footwear.
