At the World Wide Technology Championship, PGA Tour pro Justin Lower found himself in a position where the end of the season was in sight. For many Tour pros, this time of year brings concerns about season rankings, job security, and the looming offseason. However, Sundays late in the fall offer a last-ditch opportunity to improve their standings and potentially secure a spot in future events. Lower, ranked 95th in the FedEx standings and 156th in the world, has been chasing a win for years. Despite not yet achieving victory, Lower has focused on consistency throughout the season, making 21 cuts so far.

Following an emotional round where Lower eagled the last hole to shoot 63, he gave an interview reflecting on his potential for a win during the FedEx Cup Fall. Lower became visibly emotional when asked what a win would mean to him, expressing that it would mean everything. He admitted to working hard in the game of golf and reflecting on his journey to get to where he is now. The PGA Tour captured Lower’s emotional moment in a social media post, although the context of his feelings regarding his placement on the Tour was not included.

During the interview, Lower also expressed frustration with the changes the Tour has been making, feeling like anytime he has a good performance, the rules are altered. Despite these challenges, Lower emphasized his desire to prove himself in the game of golf and see how well he can perform. With the pressure mounting as the season draws to a close, Lower found himself tied for the lead heading into the final round of the tournament.

As Lower prepared to tee off in the final round, he quickly made four birdies in his first six holes, positioning himself one shot ahead of the competition. This strong start hinted that it could be Lower’s day to secure a victory. The momentum of the final round would determine whether Lower could achieve his goal and potentially earn a spot in future prestigious events. With the pressure of the season weighing on him, Lower’s performance in the last round would be crucial in shaping his future in professional golf.
