Two Regular-Season Events Remain for PGA Tour Players on the Bubble of the FedEx Cup Playoffs

The 2024 PGA Tour season is quickly coming to a close, with only two regular-season events left before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin. Players are currently racing to secure a spot in the playoffs by jockeying for positions in the top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings. The FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis is the first playoff event, where only 70 players will qualify this year, unlike the previous 125 in past years. The top 50 players after the FedEx St. Jude Championship will move on to the BMW Championship in Colorado, followed by the top 30 heading to Atlanta for the Tour Championship at East Lake.

Some players are already locks for the Tour Championship, such as Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, while others are still working to secure their spots in the playoffs. Luke List, currently sitting at No. 70, is in a precarious position after missing six of his last seven cuts. Lucas Glover, last year’s Wyndham Championship winner, is on the bubble at No. 71 and needs a strong finish in the upcoming events to make the playoffs. Lee Hodges, the defending champion of the 3M Open, is currently at No. 72 and will need a solid performance to secure a playoff berth.

Keith Mitchell, Kurt Kitayama, and Charlie Hoffman are also players to watch as they are on the outside looking in at Nos. 75, 77, and 80 respectively. Rickie Fowler, a six-time Tour winner, is currently at No. 98 and will need a strong showing in the remaining events to make the playoffs. Joel Dahmen, who had a streak of eight straight cuts made, is now at No. 109 after a couple of missed cuts. Davis Riley, the winner of the Charles Schwab Challenge in May, is sitting at No. 69 and just above the cut line for the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Emiliano Grillo, Maverick McNealy, Victor Perez, and Andrew Putnam are also players in danger of missing out on the playoffs as they are currently outside the top 70. The competition is heating up as the regular season winds down, with each event becoming crucial for players to secure their spots in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. As the race intensifies, fans can expect to see some exciting performances and unexpected outcomes as players give it their all to make it to the postseason. Stay tuned for more updates as the 2024 PGA Tour season reaches its thrilling conclusion.
