Wilson Golf Launches New DYNAPWR Forged Iron: Elevated Performance for Discerning Players

Wilson Golf has officially introduced the DYNAPWR Forged iron, a cutting-edge addition to its DYNAPWR family. This new model builds on the success of its predecessor, focusing on craftsmanship and innovative technology to enhance golfers’ performance.

Key Features of the DYNAPWR Forged Iron

  • Material and Design: Constructed from Forged 8620 Carbon Steel, the DYNAPWR Forged iron incorporates a PKR-CUP face design. This, combined with Wilson’s AI-generated Variable Face Technology, aims to provide greater distance and consistent launch angles.

  • PKR-CUP Face: Every model in the DYNAPWR lineup features this unique face design, specially engineered to maximize ball speed and consistency. By wrapping the face onto the sole, the PKR-CUP design achieves a thinner and more responsive hinge region, which flexes efficiently even on low-face strikes, resulting in faster ball speeds and higher launch angles.

  • Weld Line Optimization: The relocation of the weld line away from the striking area grants engineers improved control over face performance. This design reduces part-to-part variation, enhancing forgiveness and ensuring consistent performance.

  • Clubface Thickness Optimization: In a notable shift from its predecessor, Wilson’s engineers have eliminated power holes and meticulously optimized the thickness of the clubface. This adjustment enhances flex and energy transfer at impact, ensuring maximum distance and accelerated ball speeds without sacrificing precision.

  • Cavity Back Design: The cavity back in the DYNAPWR Forged iron is infused with TE-031 Urethane (in irons 3 through 9), designed to dampen vibrations at impact. This ensures refined acoustics and a pleasing feel with every swing.

  • Sleek Aesthetics: The polished mirror finish of the iron offers a compact, player-inspired profile at address, merging tour-level aesthetics with enhanced forgiveness.

  • High MOI Construction: The iron’s construction aims to enhance stability and consistency, promoting higher launch angles and forgiving shots with excellent stopping power on the greens.

Performance Insights

Ben Hanser, CAD Engineer at Wilson Golf, shared insights on the new design:

“We wanted to build on the success of the previous award-winning model, while taking strides to elevate the performance to the next level. The new iron is a statement of Wilson’s dedication to innovation and tradition. By combining forged precision with AI-driven design, we’ve created an iron that delivers distance, control, and feel in perfect harmony.”

The DYNAPWR Iron Family

The new DYNAPWR Forged iron is part of an impressive lineup designed primarily for aspirational golfers who seek added distance and forgiveness. The DYNAPWR Max model stands out as the longest and most forgiving iron in the series, offering maximum playability, confidence, and consistency.

Pricing

The DYNAPWR Forged iron set is competitively priced at:

  • $1199.99 for steel shafts (5-PW, GW)
  • $1299.99 for graphite shafts

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Wilson DYNAPWR Forged iron showcases the brand’s commitment to innovation and quality. With advanced technology and a focus on performance, this iron is poised to elevate the game for golfers looking to enhance their skills on the course. Whether you are a seasoned player or an aspiring golfer, the DYNAPWR Forged iron promises to deliver unmatched distance, control, and an exceptional feel.
