Tournament of Champions: Round Three Recap and Leaderboard Analysis

The latest round of the Tournament of Champions in Orlando saw challenging conditions that affected many players, including rising star Lottie Woad from England. Just 22 years old and a professional for less than a year, Woad was invited to compete in this prestigious season-opening LPGA tournament held at Lake Nona.

Round Three Leaderboard

Here’s a snapshot of the leaderboard following the third round:

PositionPlayerScore
1Nelly Korda-13
2Amy Yang-10
3You-Min Hwang-8
Lydia Ko-8
5Brooke Henderson-7
6M. Yamashita-5
Lottie Woad-5
Nasa Hataoka-5

The day featured unpredictable, cold, and blustery conditions, which ultimately led to the suspension of play on Saturday.

Performance Highlights

  • Lottie Woad shared the lead with three-time major champion Lydia Ko after shooting a solid 69 in her second round but struggled in the challenging weather. As of the suspension, Woad was three over par through 16 holes, placing her eight shots back from the leader.
  • Nelly Korda of the United States reclaimed her competitive edge with an impressive eight-under-par 64, now leading with a three-stroke advantage over South Korea’s Amy Yang, who sits at ten-under.
  • Both Ko and Woad are among the players who could not complete their rounds due to deteriorating weather conditions, which also impacted competitors like Nasa Hataoka and You-Min Hwang.

Looking Ahead

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Korda as she aims for her first victory since November 2024. With several players close behind, including Yang and Hwang, who are well-positioned at ten and eight under par respectively, the final rounds promise excitement as competitors navigate the unpredictability of both their game and the weather.

Stay tuned for further updates as we approach the conclusion of this thrilling tournament. The resilience and skill of these athletes will surely take center stage at Lake Nona.
