Team Los Angeles emerged victorious in the GOLFZON Tour, a simulator-golf match-play competition, by defeating Team Detroit in the final match and claiming the $150,000 grand prize. Throughout the tournament, Team Los Angeles showcased their dominance with big wins in the early rounds, earning themselves a bye into the quarter-final round and securing victories against Team Minneapolis and Team Tulsa in the semi-finals. The final match saw LA’s youngest team members, Shreyas Kumaresh, Jason Bustos, and Michael Ordona, play pivotal roles in securing the victory for the squad.

The GOLFZON Tour is a new league that features regional teams of five players from selected GOLFZON host facilities competing in a series of matches. In this single-elimination bracket play tournament, teams select three players to compete head-to-head by linking their simulators together over the Internet in a match-play format. Female competitors play 85 percent of the yardage of their male counterparts, adding a unique dynamic to the competition. If a tie occurs after 18 holes, the match goes into a sudden-death playoff where the scores of all three players count.

The final matchup between Team Los Angeles and Team Detroit took place at Bay Hill, an iconic venue and an annual host of the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Team Los Angeles took control of the match early on, securing wins on the first six holes and maintaining their lead throughout the competition. Despite Team Detroit’s efforts to stage a comeback, Team Los Angeles sealed their victory with a 7-and-5 win on the 13th hole. This win earned each member of Team Los Angeles $30,000, with Michael Ordona using his winnings to fund his upcoming wedding.

The 12 teams that competed in this edition of the GOLFZON Tour were divided into East and West divisions, with Team Los Angeles emerging as the winners in the West Division. Teams such as Detroit, London, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, and Orlando participated in the tournament, showcasing their talent in simulator-golf match-play. Although only one team could claim the grand prize, all participants demonstrated skill and camaraderie throughout the competition.

Viewers can watch all the matches from the GOLFZON Tour on the GOLFZON YouTube page, providing a chance to witness the intense competition and thrilling moments from the tournament. As the league continues to grow and attract more participants, the excitement surrounding simulator-golf match-play is on the rise, offering a unique and engaging experience for both players and spectators. To learn more about the GOLFZON Tour and explore the full match-play bracket, interested individuals can visit the league’s website for additional information.
