WM Phoenix Open 2026: A Celebration of Golf in the Arizona Desert

The PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing continues as we gear up for the highly anticipated WM Phoenix Open, one of golf’s largest parties taking place in the picturesque Arizona desert. Also referred to as "The People’s Open" and dubbed "The Greenest Show on Grass" for its commitment to zero waste, this year marks the 39th edition of the tournament at the TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

Tournament Highlights

Headlining the Field: Scottie Scheffler

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the standout player in this year’s lineup. A two-time WM Phoenix Open champion, Scheffler is aiming for his third title following a recent victory at the American Express. He has taken this week off, focusing on his preparation for the upcoming tournament.

Noteworthy Achievements:

  • Secured his 20th career win at the American Express, earning a lifetime exemption on the PGA Tour.
  • Became the third fastest player to reach 20 wins.
  • Surpassed $100 million in career earnings, joining an elite group in Tour history.

Other Notable Competitors

The competition remains fierce with a robust field of talented golfers including:

  • Xander Schauffele
  • Viktor Hovland
  • Tony Finau
  • Wyndham Clark
  • Jordan Spieth
  • Billy Horschel
  • Max Homa
  • J.J. Spaun
  • Ben Griffin
  • Collin Morikawa
  • Sam Burns
  • Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Brian Harman
  • Brooks Koepka: Returning for the first time in four years after winning the WM Phoenix Open in 2021, Koepka is also back on the Tour following his reinstatement under the Returning Player Program.

Special Exemptions

This year’s tournament chairman, Jason Eisenberg, has announced that Sahith Theegala, Joel Dahmen, and Charley Hoffman have received sponsor exemptions to compete in the event.

Schedule of Events

The WM Phoenix Open week will include:

  • Practice Rounds: Monday and Tuesday
  • Celebrity Pro-Am: Wednesday
  • First Round: February 5, 2026
  • Final Round: February 8, 2026, usually concluding around 6 p.m. ET, just before the Super Bowl.

PGA Tour Golfer Field: 2026 WM Phoenix Open

As of January 30, 2026, a total of 121 golfers are confirmed to participate in the tournament. The field is expected to expand to 123 players following Brooks Koepka’s inclusion, adhering to the Tour’s policy of not displacing other players when enhancing the field.
