The PGA Tour Champions 2024 season is coming to a close with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship taking place at Phoenix Country Club. This prestigious event is the final leg of a three-tournament postseason and the only 72-hole event on the schedule outside of the five majors on the senior circuit. After 28 tournaments over the last 10 months, only 36 golfers remain in the field.

Among the top 36 golfers competing in the Charles Schwab field are names like Ernie Els, Stephen Ames, Y.E. Yang, Steve Stricker, and Vijay Singh. These players have had successful seasons and will be looking to finish strong at the season finale. Some notable movements in the field include Hiroyuki Fujita, Jason Caron, and Cameron Percy playing their way into the finale, while Mike Weir, David Bransdon, and Scott Dunlap dropped out.

Ernie Els currently leads the Charles Schwab Cup points race with three wins in 2024. He is followed by Steven Alker, Stephen Ames, Padraig Harrington, and Y.E. Yang in the standings. Other noteworthy players include Steve Stricker, Bernhard Langer, and Jason Caron, who have performed well throughout the season and will be looking to make their mark at the championship event.

Phoenix Country Club, the host venue for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, has a rich history in hosting professional golf events. The course was home to the PGA Tour’s Phoenix Open from 1932 to 1986 and has been hosting the PGA Tour Champions since 2017. With a deal in place to continue hosting events through 2032, the club is a staple in the golfing community and provides a challenging and exciting venue for players and fans alike.

The Charles Schwab Cup Championship is set to take place from November 7-10, offering fans the opportunity to witness some of the best senior golfers in the world compete for the season-ending title. With a competitive field of top players and a historic venue like Phoenix Country Club, the championship promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 PGA Tour Champions season. Stay tuned for exciting golf action and see who will emerge victorious at the season finale.
