Improving your golf swing width and balance can drastically impact your game. In this article, we will discuss a simple 2-club drill that can help you achieve the proper swing width and rotation for better shot results. By analyzing the feet positioning during the swing, you can make adjustments to create more depth in your backswing and improve your overall performance on the course.

For many amateur golfers, like myself, the struggle with rotation is a common issue that affects the consistency and accuracy of our shots. As a former baseball player, I tend to be too fast in my transition, leading to shots that spray to the right. This can be frustrating and hinder my progress in the game. However, after taking a lesson with GOLF Top 100 Teacher Joe Plecker, I discovered a simple fix that could make a significant difference in my swing sequence.

One of the key factors Plecker identified was the positioning of my feet at address. By using a 2-club cross drill, he showed me how to determine the proper width of my feet for better rotation and backswing. This drill helped me understand the importance of foot placement in achieving a more efficient pivot and generating power in my shots. With a wider stance and proper alignment, I was able to improve my swing dynamics and hit the ball with more consistency and accuracy.

During the lesson, Plecker emphasized the importance of maintaining balance and stability throughout the swing. By adjusting the width of my feet and flaring out my right knee and foot, I was able to create a more solid foundation for my swing. This allowed me to turn into the backswing with ease and keep my trail foot grounded for better control and power. The results were evident in my drives, as I was able to hit the ball further and straighter than before.

The 2-club cross drill served as a valuable tool for me to check my stance and pivot, ensuring that I was utilizing the correct foot positioning for optimal performance. Plecker’s guidance and the simple yet effective drill helped me improve my rotation and balance, leading to better shots on the course. I encourage other golfers who struggle with these aspects of their swing to try this drill before their next round and experience the positive impact it can have on their game.

In addition to the drill, utilizing training aids like the Rukket Sports Level Up Mat Expander can enhance your practice sessions at home. This standing turf mat provides a level hitting surface and alignment graphic for perfecting your stance and foot placement. By practicing from a level surface, you can increase your consistency in ball striking and transfer those skills to the course. The mat fits securely with existing Rukket turf hitting mats, making it easy to set up and use for extended practice sessions.

Overall, improving your golf swing width and balance is essential for achieving better results on the course. By incorporating simple drills like the 2-club cross drill and using training aids like the Rukket Sports Level Up Mat Expander, you can refine your stance, rotation, and overall swing mechanics. With dedication and practice, you can make significant improvements in your game and enjoy better performance and results during your rounds of golf. Remember to focus on your feet positioning, balance, and rotation to unlock your full potential as a golfer.
