Jon Rahm will be making his debut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January, marking a shift in the golf landscape as he joins the DP World Tour event. Normally starting his season on the PGA Tour, Rahm’s suspension from the tour due to joining LIV Golf has led him to participate in the prestigious event in Dubai. Alongside defending champion Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, Rahm’s presence adds to the star-studded field for the Rolex Series event taking place from 16-19 January. This move is not only beneficial for the DP World Tour but also for Rahm, as he has the opportunity to earn Official World Golf Ranking points and Ryder Cup points.

Having previously experienced success in Dubai, including three wins at the DP World Tour Championship and a Race To Dubai title in 2019, Rahm is excited for his debut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. By maintaining his DP World Tour membership through competing in the required number of events, Rahm has secured his spot to play in the upcoming season. Alongside fellow LIV Golfers such as Tyrrell Hatton, Sergio Garcia, Adrian Meronk, and Patrick Reed, Rahm will have the chance to compete against some of the best in the European Tour.

The upcoming event at Emirates Golf Club will see Rahm facing off against other European Ryder Cup members on the Majlis Course, setting the stage for a thrilling start to the 2025 season. Simon Corkill, the tournament’s executive director, expressed his excitement for Rahm’s inclusion in the event, highlighting the tradition of attracting top players to compete. With the lineup featuring top players like McIlroy, Fleetwood, and other European Ryder Cup stars, golf fans can anticipate witnessing world-class competition at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

As a highly accomplished player with multiple wins on the DP World Tour, Rahm’s presence adds prestige to the event and reinforces its reputation for hosting elite golfers. The anticipation of seeing Rahm compete on the iconic stage of Emirates Golf Club alongside other top-ranked players is building excitement for the upcoming tournament. With his successful track record and competitive spirit, Rahm’s debut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic is poised to be a highlight of the event and a significant moment for golf enthusiasts worldwide.
