U.S. Open Final Qualifying 2025: A Day of Hope, Competition, and Dreams

By: Josh Berhow | Published on June 2, 2025

Every golf enthusiast knows that June is synonymous with one of the sport’s most prestigious events: the U.S. Open. But before the big tournament kicks off at Oakmont Country Club from June 12-15, there’s a crucial step that unfolds beforehand—final qualifying. Dubbed “golf’s longest day,” the day of final qualifying takes place on Monday, and it promises a gripping display of talent, resilience, and determination.

This year, hundreds of golfers will compete across 10 locations in the U.S. and Canada. They’ll face the daunting challenge of playing 36 holes in a bid to secure a coveted spot at the U.S. Open. The journey to this pivotal day began back in April, with local qualifiers held at over 110 sites. The best performers from these qualifiers will now have their shot at glory, joining already exempt players.

Among the notable names participating today are fan favorites like Max Homa, Rickie Fowler, and Webb Simpson, each aiming for a chance to leave their mark at Oakmont. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the excitement is palpable as golf fans anticipate what lies ahead.

For the eager viewers, the Golf Channel is set to deliver up to ten hours of coverage of this thrilling event. Viewers can tune in from 12 PM to 2 PM ET and later from 4 PM until midnight to savor every moment of this nail-biting day. Anticipating such extensive coverage, the golfing world is ready to witness aspiring pros and seasoned veterans alike compete for the ultimate dream.
