The upcoming FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis is set to showcase a showdown between two of the best golfers in the world: Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele. Both players have been on fire this season, with Scheffler currently ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking and the FedEx Cup Playoff standings, while Schauffele holds the No. 2 spot in both categories. Scheffler recently won the gold medal for the United States at the Paris Olympics, while Schauffele took home gold at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.

In 2024, three out of the four majors were won by either Scheffler or Schauffele, with Scheffler claiming victory at the Masters and The Players Championship, and Schauffele securing wins at the PGA Championship and the British Open. The only major that neither player won was the U.S. Open, which was won by Bryson DeChambeau. Despite their success at the major championships, neither Scheffler nor Schauffele has secured a victory in Memphis, although they have had strong showings in previous years.

Both Scheffler and Schauffele have a strong track record at TPC Southwind, with Scheffler finishing 14th in 2021 and tying for 15th in 2020, and Schauffele tying for sixth at the event in 2020 when it was known as the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. As the two top-ranked players in the field, they are likely to be the favorites to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship, with their exceptional performances this season instilling confidence in fans and bettors alike.

In a comparison of their stats, Scheffler, who is 28 years old, has 12 PGA Tour wins and 9 runner-up finishes, while Schauffele, who is 30 years old, has 9 PGA Tour wins and 14 runner-up finishes. Scheffler, who stands at 6-3 and weighs 200 pounds, turned pro in 2018, while Schauffele, who is 5-10 and weighs 175 pounds, turned pro in 2015. These impressive statistics highlight the talent and competitiveness of both players, setting the stage for an exciting matchup at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

As fans eagerly anticipate the clash between Scheffler and Schauffele at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the competition is sure to be intense and entertaining. With both players at the top of their game and vying for victory in Memphis, the tournament promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and skill. Golf enthusiasts and spectators alike will be treated to a spectacle as Scheffler and Schauffele go head-to-head in a battle for supremacy on the course.
