Review of the Newton Gravity Duke Putter

Newton Gravity, previously known as Sacks Parente, has rebranded itself and launched a new line of putters in 2024. The company, known for its wood shaft offerings and presence on the PGA Tour Champions, aims to expand its reach with five new putter heads, including the Newton Gravity Duke putter. Manufactured in the USA, these putters boast unique features that set them apart from the competition.

The Newton Gravity Duke putter sports an all matte black finish with red accents and an alignment line on the flange. The face features a shallow milling pattern and weight ports on the heel and toe. The flow neck design and D-shaped head provide a visually appealing and functional setup at address, making it easy to align the ball and the putter head.

Despite its lightweight ULBP shaft (~40 grams), the Newton Gravity Duke putter has a heavy head (~380 grams) that may take some getting used to. However, the combination of the two elements allows for a smooth tempo and consistent stroke. The Tempo shaft provides feedback on strike quality, with well-hit putts feeling soft and muted, while poorly struck putts transmit more vibration through the oversized grip.

During testing, the Newton Gravity Duke putter demonstrated excellent distance control, thanks in part to the Ultra Low Balance Point technology and the shifted center of gravity. The unique design of the putter promotes a rhythmic stroke, potentially improving tempo for amateur players. The putter’s performance on the course impressed testers, highlighting its potential as a valuable tool for enhancing putting skills.

The Newton Gravity Duke putter is part of a lineup that includes traditional and modern head shapes, all featuring the lightweight Tempo shaft. Priced at $450 and available in various lengths and grip options, the Duke offers players a unique putting experience. While the Duke may not appeal to every player’s preference, its innovative design and performance make it a compelling option for those seeking improvement in their putting game.

Overall, the Newton Gravity Duke putter stands out as a game-changing tool for enhancing tempo and distance control on the green. With its combination of a lightweight shaft, heavy head, and innovative technology, this putter has the potential to transform the putting experience for players looking to up their game in 2025.
