The PNC Championship is a popular event on the golfing calendar where Major and Players Championship winners team up with a family member for a 36-hole shootout. Run by the PGA Tour Champions, the event features some of the biggest names in the sport including Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam, Bernhard Langer, Gary Player, and Nelly Korda. The unique format of the PNC Championship includes the use of scramble, a popular golf format where players take the best shot from each other. The tournament is played over 36-holes with Friday being a pro-am and the competition taking place over Saturday and Sunday.

The scramble format of the PNC Championship allows for scoring to be supremely low, with players having two shots at each shot. In 2018, Davis Love III and his son Dru shot a 16-under-par 56 on their way to victory. Tiger and Charlie Woods, among other pairs, shot a 57 in 2021, which included 11 consecutive birdies on their way to second place. Competitors hit from various tee boxes based on age, gender, and ability, with PGA Tour professionals hitting off the tips, LPGA and PGA Tour Champions off the next-forward tees, and seniors and amateurs from further forward tees.

The event aims to be fair for all competitors, although there are no handicaps in place which may give certain teams a natural advantage if their family teammate is an elite amateur or college player. The PNC Championship takes place at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, and 2021 defending champions are Bernhard and Jason Langer who finished at 25-under par. The purse for the event is $1,000,000 with $200,000 going to the first-place winners. The event is televised on NBC, Golf Channel, Peacock, NBC Sports app in the US, and Sky Sports Golf in the UK and Ireland.
