Ally Ewing, a 32-year-old LPGA Tour player, will be playing her last tournament at the CME Group Tour Championship. Along with fellow players Lexi Thompson and Brittany Lincicome, Ewing announced retirement plans earlier this year. Despite having a successful season with three LPGA Tour wins and earning $1.9 million, Ewing has decided to step away from professional golf. She expressed that her recent play has only reinforced her decision to retire and is looking forward to starting a family with her husband and embracing a more normal life at home.

Ewing has been playing on the LPGA Tour since 2016 and hopes to have children in the future, which factored into her decision to retire. As a Type I diabetic, she believes that being at home will make managing her health condition easier. Additionally, she acknowledges that starting a family presents high risks due to her age and wants to prioritize her health and family in the years to come. Despite having a good idea two years ago that she had only a few more years left on Tour, Ewing is confident that this is the right timing for her to step away from professional golf.

Reflecting on her career, Ewing expressed her gratitude for being able to end on a high note. She wanted to play good golf as she finished her career and is pleased that she was able to play some of her best golf in her last year on Tour. Ewing intends to stay focused on her final tournament and avoid distractions until after she finishes her last hole on Sunday. She is grateful for the support from her family, especially her husband, and is excited for the next chapter in her life.

Despite the challenges of being a professional golfer, Ewing appreciates the experiences and relationships she has built on Tour. She will miss the people and the camaraderie but looks forward to the simplicity of life at home. Ewing acknowledges the sacrifices she made to pursue her career in golf and is ready to transition to a new phase of her life. She expressed her desire to savor the small moments and enjoy the little things she missed while on Tour, such as making her own coffee at home and sleeping in her own bed.

In conclusion, Ally Ewing’s decision to retire from professional golf marks the end of an era in her career. She leaves the LPGA Tour with three wins and a successful season under her belt, looking forward to a future filled with family and new opportunities. Ewing’s dedication to her health and future family played a significant role in her retirement decision, along with the desire to end her career on a high note. As she prepares for her final tournament, Ewing remains grateful for her time on Tour and looks forward to embarking on the next chapter of her life.
